Ecclesiastes 3 is a familiar Bible passage – “to everything there is a season; times for laughing and mourning, building up and tearing down, war and peace.” Grief and loss are a natural part of the life cycle. At some time in our lives we will have to face and endure great seasons of loss. For me, it has helped tremendously when family, close friends and even strangers have shared the burden of loss. It has been invaluable to know that someone else cares and takes the time to let me know. God often uses the loving arms of others to carry us through. Sending tender and gentle sympathy cards is a wonderful way to reach out to someone who is hurting. You can make a difference!
